Are you a comfortable adult hooper, poi spinner, or prop artist looking to take your spinning to the next level? Come learn the art of Fire Spinning with VestaFire! This two hour workshop will teach you everything you need to know to light up SAFELY and confidently, with handouts to take home. You’ll learn fire safety, dipping, snuffing, and, if you choose, have the opportunity to burn your most comfortable spinning prop! We’ll also discuss different types of props and what to look for when purchasing your first fire prop. We will also document your first burn with a professional photo! All equipment and props provided. 75$ per person, maximum 6 people per class for personalized attention.
Class will be rescheduled if weather is inclement. Waiver required. You must wear JEANS and 100% COTTON clothing- no synthetics!
Karina recently brought her fire spinning gear and some of her crew to my 40th birthday. I am a hooper but I had no previous experience with fire hooping. Her enthusiasm, yet calm and clear instruction, coupled with a high level of attention to safety and safety protocol enabled me to jump into my first experience with this art feeling excited and prepared and absolutely safe. Come join VestaFire for a spectacular private show full of Halloween Spookery! We would like to invite our family, friends, and local fans to a special private 30 min showing of our favorite fire theatrical acts. We will also be selling Hot Chocolate and baked goodies by donation to Kat’s upcoming Spark Circus trip- teaching and performing for the orphans and refugees on the Burma border.
Admission-Â only $ 5Â per person, and kids under 5 are free!

Kat and Karina headed south this week to perform at the 8th Annual Fire Expo in San Francisco! We were invited to present two routines (Pendulum Poi Solo, and Cosmic Love Hoop/Staff duet) in the heart of downtown SF: Union Square, in front of 3000 people. We had an amazing time at the event, and spending time and training with the incredible circus community in the Bay area for the entire week. It was so inspiring to be sharing the stage with some of the best Fire Performers in North America. Here’s some pictures from our routines, and backstage shenanigans! Many thanks to the photographers who captured this special moment, and to the Temple of Poi for hosting the event.

This summer VestaFire was pleased to be invited to co-create a party atmosphere at Nanaimo Centre Stage, for Blaxploitation II! A fun filled evening filled with 70’s funk remixes, crazy costumes, projections of 70’s movies, and and private birthday party downstairs that got just a little bit wild. Check out the three min video just released by Funky Hypothalamus-Â and VestaFire was caught on tape with LED poi, Contact Juggling, and Buugeng. We also did giant Bubbles outside, and performed with fibreoptic whip and LED hoops! An awesome time was had by all, we’re so happy to have been invited to perform.

VestaFire was excited to be involved in the Downtown Courtenay Business Association’s Winterfest celebrations on Friday! We performed a spectacular corporate gala fire show, and provided roving entertainment as our Illuminated Angel Stilt Dancer!
We’d like to thank all our volunteers, cast and crew- I’m so proud of all of us!! Not only was it a great ‘show’ for the public, but behind the scenes was very smooth and professional. Our dip kit station ran like clockwork, and our ever watchful fire safety crew were vigilante and at-the-ready. The new propane cannon worked like a charm, and the crowd LOVED the fireballs- especially when we wheeled it out onto centre stage at the finale!! A GREAT show, and we’ve already received many more ‘likes’ and comments from the audience on our facebook page- as well as some great fan Photos! Thank you so much!

Courtenay WinterFest Corporate Gala Fire show promo video!
VestaFire gets so many comments on our incredible costumes- one of the features of many of our costumes are the elaborate leather masks worn during some of our fire shows and character roving festival entertainment.
Many of our masks are made by my good friend Andrea Russel, on Saltspring Island. Andrea is also the RingMistress and organizer of SPARKCircus- the organization we travelled to Thailand with to teach and perform in the Burmese refugee camps, hospitals and orphanages.
Andrea is an incredible artist and visionary, along with metal craft and jewellery making. She has a new website for her leather work that I wanted to share with you! She has many masks ready to go or can make things to order. She also teaches workshops on leather craft for those who want to try it themselves!
I encourage you to check out her site- so many BEAUTIFUL creations! Maybe YOUR Halloween costume is waiting for you there?
While we enjoy performing with fire, LED lit props are a great alternative that can be just as spectacular! VestaFire is excited to be partnering with Hoopdaddy to beta test some BRAND NEW hoop technology. The Phoenix is fully programmable, remote controlled with Bluetooth technology. We are testing out two 31″ poly pro hoops- and they are beautiful!
We went out to play the other night and got some amazing pictures, using one of the new Phoenix and one Astral Atomic Pro hoop, and our fiber-optic whip. Here are some of the highlights; the full set is viewable here on our Facebook page
